Ickenham & Swakeleys Horticultural Society Autumn Show
Saturday 7 September 2013

AMAZING SHOW – a huge number of entries!

Almost 300 exhibits filled the Village Hall, packed with visitors all afternoon viewing tables filled with colourful floral and pot plant displays and a splendid array of vegetables, particularly the currently popular chilli-peppers.

Of note was  the excellent number of cookery entries where (once again) the best supported class was the ‘Men’s Challenge’!

Quality and number of entries in junior competitive classes was outstanding, Glebe Primary School once again produced a superb and really creative display of produce and craft; it was most gratifying to see the great number of under 16’s – and their parents - involved in the show.

We were very pleased to see so many some new names among the exhibitors as well as regular supporters. The ‘best in section’ winners were as follows:

Floral classes:                                      Roger Trigg

Dahlia classes:                                     John Stokes

Pot plant classes:                                 Roger Trigg

Vegetable classes:                                Harry Dixon

Fruit classes:                                        Margaret Mayes

Domestic classes:                                 Lynne Davey

Men’s challenge class:                           Michael Davey

Wine classes:                                       Chris Lane

Photographic classes:                           Rosemary Bennett

Junior horticultural classes:                   Catherine Tipton

Junior domestic classes:                       Aaron Hawkesworth
